KINDERGARTEN IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Wow! is all we can say about the total Solar Eclipse that we witnessed this past Monday. We don't know about you, but we thought that our day (minus the heat) was awesome in many ways. First, we saw the might power of our God! Second, we were surrounded by our Ezell-Harding family while we experienced something that we hope we will all never forget. There are some pictures below of our day for you to enjoy.

Thank you to all the parents who came to our Open House on Tuesday evening. We enjoyed seeing you and I know the children loved showing you around and sharing all the things that they have been learning about since school started.

Thank you, also, to all of you for a successful fund-raising sale! Your children will definitely benefit from the money that was raised. We will let you know sometime this week if we earned the day after Labor Day off.

Grandparent's Day is coming up on Friday, September 8th. Go ahead and invite your Grandparents to this very special day. Check Mr. Riley's blog for the schedule for this very special day.

We hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!

Blessings!

KINDERGARTEN IS KOOL!

On Friday, we had a visit from Kevin Kidd. He is a musician who sings fun songs with the kids and plays his guitar. He brought his daughter, Caroline, with him who also sings and plays the violin and ukulele. They both were awesome! The students had a great time singing, dancing, and playing instruments! Below are some pictures of their visit.

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Psalm 19

On Monday, we will all be experiencing the solar eclipse. We hope that you will be able to join us as we witness this awesome once in a lifetime event. Please meet us in our classroom by 10:40 and we will all go eat lunch together. We will all need to stay together as a group for the day. You will need to sign your child out from the classroom, if you will be taking them with you, after everything is over.

On Tuesday night, we will be hosting our annual "Open House." This will be "come and go" from 5pm-7pm, and your child will be your tour guide. You will be able to see some of the things your child has been doing so far in our class and in their specialty classes. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night.

Please remember to Sell, Sell, Sell those City Saver Books, Smart Cards, and Magazines. The money we raise helps so much with things that we need for our school!  The children love the prizes they get for selling and if 60% of our school participates in the sell, we will have an extra day off after Labor Day, September 5th. Thank you in advance for helping in this way!

JOUSTING INTO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND SHIELD. PSALM 28:7

We are off to a great start in Kindergarten! Who is more tired...the students, parents, or teachers?
This week, we have been going over procedures and routines with our students and they are doing a great job of learning and following them. It is very helpful if you can get your child to school on time so that they have plenty of time to practice and complete the procedures. Students may come into their classrooms at 7:30.

Next week, we will continue our Animals from A-Z unit and review of upper and lowercase letter recognition. This is also our science lesson, as we learn a lot of facts about each animal.

On Monday, August 21st, we are going to be celebrating the solar eclipse. I'm sure by now that you have seen and read the email about this special day. We will be doing many activities this week in preparation for this event. We hope that you are making plans to join us on this day.

In Bible, we are learning about Creation. Our memory verse will be Genesis 1:31.
