KINDERGARTEN HAS HEART!!

This week we studied about how to take care of our hearts. We learned that we need to exercise, eat right, get enough sleep and not smoke. We listened to our hearts with a stethoscope, we felt our pulse, we played several heart games, we read books, we traced ourselves and cut them out, putting our hearts and lungs in place and drew our veins and arteries, and did an experiment that showed how our hearts pump. We hope you enjoy the pictures below.

Next week we will be celebrating "Read Across America" week. If you would like to come and read to our classes, please let your teacher know and she will schedule a time for you to come.

Dress Up Days:

Monday- pajamas
Tuesday- wear green
Wednesday- wear mismatched clothes
Thursday-wear your favorite hat
Friday- wear silly socks

We sent home a reading log for you to log each book that you read to your child this week. Bring it back to school on Friday to get to help duct tape Mr. Riley to the wall!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR IN KINDERGARTEN!

Thank you to all Moms and Dads that were able to come and have a doughnut or a muffin with your child last week. Time goes by so fast! It is important to enjoy every precious moment that you can with your child.

We had a visit from the tooth fairy on Friday to end our study of dental health this past week. She taught us how to brush our teeth correctly and why it is so important to care for them. See the pictures below.

This next week, on Tuesday, we will be showing love to the residents at the Waterford Assisted Living Home in Smyrna. We will be singing for them and passing out Valentine cards and hugs.
This is one of my favorite field trips because the children sing their little hearts out and the residents really love it! We will then return to school for a pizza lunch and to pass out our valentines to our friends.

Please send in your valentine boxes, your valentines, and $4.00 for the pizza lunch  by Monday, February 13.

Please remember it is registration time for next year. We would like to encourage you to take advantage of registering early in order to save money and reserve your spot. EHCS is a great place to be!

DATES TO REMEMBER:

Feb. 14- Valentine Field Trip to Waterford
Feb. 20- President's Day/No School
Feb. 23- Parent/Teacher Conferences (let us know if you want to schedule a conference)
