KINDERGARTEN IS A GREAT ADVENTURE!

We studied about President's this week in Kindergarten. We learned about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and our current President Barak Obama. Did you know that Abe Lincoln kept his important papers under his hat? Or did you know that George Washington loved animals?

Next week we will be studying about our heart and how to take care of it.

Remember that this Thursday, February 25th, will be a half day for Parent/Teacher Conferences. If your child is staying all day, please send a complete lunch.

There are only two more weeks left in this nine week period. Please get those sight word lists turned in! We will be testing your child soon on the following skills: rhyming words, addition, telling time to the hour, writing and recognizing numbers 1-30 and writing by 5's to 100.

Spring Break- March 7-11

LOVE IS IN THE AIR IN KINDERGARTEN!

Our Kindergarten students sang their little hearts out on Valentine's Day for the residents of Waterford Assisted Living Home in Smyrna. We also made cards for them and delivered them to each resident, complete with a hug!  It was so sweet to see the interaction between the residents and the children. You should be very proud of them!

After we returned from our field trip, we ate pizza and gave out our valentine cards. We had a very good day!

We hope that you enjoyed "Donuts with Dad" and "Muffins with Mom" last week. It is always a special time to share with your child and make some wonderful memories!

Wow, the children sure did a great job leading chapel and teaching about why we love the Bible! Even with all the snow days and only getting to practice a couple of times, they came through with flying colors!

This nine weeks is quickly coming to an end. Please remember to work on sight words.

Love to all,

Mrs. Gee and Mrs. Woody

WITH LOVE FROM KINDERGARTEN!

We had such fun at our Teddy Bear Picnic. We drew our bears, we had a picnic with our bears, we slept with our bears, and finally put the bears in our "cave" to hibernate until winter is over. We have learned a lot about how animals survive in the winter.
