KINDERGARTEN SALUTES VETERANS!

Happy Veteran's Day!! This week we learned what it means to be a veteran and made cards to thank them for their service to our country. We are very thankful to the men and women who have made sacrifices for our freedom. Thank you Veterans!

We have been very busy this week preparing for our upcoming Feast and Pow wow on Thursday.
We will be dressing up in our Native American vests, necklaces, headbands, and carrying our drums. Our cafeteria will be providing the meal, which will be turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and a roll. We will be making a special pumpkin dessert in our classroom. We are asking that all students buy (bring $4.00) or charge their lunch on Thursday. All parents are invited to join us if you can. We will be eating in the cafeteria from 10:40-11:10. Afterwards, we will be having our Pow wow in the Eagle's Nest from 11:15-11:45 where we will sing, dance, and beat our drums.

We have been working very hard to learn the 100th Psalm. We will be saying it in Chapel on Thursday morning. We are also asking that each child say it for their families at their Thanksgiving meal.

WE ARE SMARTIES IN KINDERGARTEN!

IT'S ALMOST THANKSGIVING!

Last week, we dissected an owl pellet in the Stem Lab! It was fun and gross at the same time!
Please stop by and look outside our classroom door at the poster that shows what we found in our owl pellet. You will be amazed!

We have begun our study of Pilgrims and Native Americans. It is a lot of fun to learn about the history of our country and how they lived long ago. We will be giving each child an Indian name this week. We have put up a teepee in our room that the students got to paint symbols on. Each student will take turns sleeping and reading in the teepee during November. We will also be busy painting our Native American vests, drums, headbands, and making a necklace. We will be sending home brown paper on Tuesday for you to cover a cylinder shaped can with, for our drums. Please send back to school by Friday.

We will be having a Thanksgiving feast and powwow on Thursday, November 16th. Parents are invited to attend. More details to come later.

KINDERGARTEN IS A HOOT!

Wow, what a fun day we have had celebrating fall! We went trick-or-treating all over campus and your children are bringing home lots of candy and goodies in their box. We ate pizza, chips, doughnuts, cookies, and grapes in a Frankenstein cup! We played games and guessed how many spiders there were in the jar. We made some great memories!

After the party, we went "owling." When you go"owling" you must be quiet and brave in order to see an owl. Ask your children if we saw any.
Next week, we will dissect an owl pellet in the Stem Lab. This is always an exciting and slightly yucky time. Please feel free to stop by the classroom and check out what we find in the pellet.

It is the time of the year when we go from studying about pumpkins, owls, and spiders, to studying about Pilgrims and Native Americans. We will have a teepee in our room next week that the students will get to paint symbols on and at nap time, all good little girls and boys will get a chance to sleep in.

UPCOMING :

Holiday Fundraiser starting Nov. 2-Nov. 14- Yankee Candle and Gift Wrap

DATES TOO REMEMBER;

No School- Nov 6- Christian School Inservice
No School- Nov. 20-24- Thanksgiving Holidays

WE TEACH THE CUTEST PUMPKINS IN THE PATCH!!

THE PUMPKIN PATCH

We had a wonderful time on our trip to the pumpkin patch. We had great weather and I think everyone had some fantastic fall fun! We went on a scavenger hunt hay ride, saw some farm animals, played in a hay maze and on a fun playground, and of course, we picked out our own pumpkin to take home. Thank you to all the parents who went with us! You were great help and trips like this would not be possible without you!! Please enjoy the pictures below of our trip.

This week we learned all about pumpkins. We learned the parts of a pumpkin, we counted the seeds  in the pumpkin, we measured how tall our pumpkin was, and we counted the ribs of the pumpkin. We ended the week by going to the Stem Lab and making a pumpkin volcano. It was really neat! Please enjoy the pictures below of our Stem Lab visit.

This Friday, we will be having our Fall Party. It will be from 9:45-11:15. We will begin by going trick or treating around campus and then return to our classroom to eat pizza and goodies for lunch. Parents are welcome to come and join in on the fun!

REMINDERS FOR THIS WEEK:
  • Bring covered box (black paper on cereal type box) for trick or treating by Monday.
  • Bring in bag of individually wrapped candy
  • Bring $3.00 for pizza for party

We hope that you have had a restful weekend!
