READY, SET, ACTION IN KINDERGARTEN

A YEAR TO REMEMBER!!

Tuesday night, April 24th, will be our Kindergarten Play, A Year To Remember! It will be at
6:30 pm in the Middle School Gym. You will want to be there and make sure you bring the Grandparents along! We have worked very hard and cannot wait to show you all the things that we have learned and all that we can do.

Here is a schedule for this week:

Monday- Your child's costume will be coming home

Tuesday morning- Your child will wear their complete costume (remembering the needed items that were sent home recently) to school on Tuesday morning and bring their uniform to change into after the dress rehearsal.

Tuesday evening- We will send your child's costume back home. Your child will need to be back at school at 6:00 pm, dressed in their complete costume. They will come to  their classroom, parents go to the Middle School Gym to get a good seat. (pictures may be taken during and after the play)

Wednesday-Your child's costume will need to be returned to school on the hanger or in the bag that it was sent home in. (including all items provided)

Friday, April 27th, will be Field Day. This is a fun day for our kids, where they will participate in all kinds of games outside. If you have the time, you are welcome to come and join in on the fun.

This past week, we planted flowers outside in a planter behind our school. We became gardeners! We planted, watered, and hopefully will watch our flowers grow in the next few weeks. Also, we plan to let our butterflies go in our flower garden when they emerge from their chrysalises.

Here our some pictures of our experience below:

Kindergarten Graduation will be on Tuesday morning, May 15th, at 8:30 am in the Middle School Gym. There will be a reception afterwards in the Eagles Nest. Your child may be dismissed to leave with you after the program. Kindergarten will be officially over after graduation.

Happy Earth Day!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG IN KINDERGARTEN

This week we have been learning about nouns, blends, digraphs, reviewing vowel sounds,  and learning how to add details to our writing. In math, we have been working on comparing numbers, greater than, less than, and equal to. We have been working on subtraction and recognizing and learning how much each coin, penny, nickel, dime, and quarter, are worth. In science, we have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly by watching it happen right before our eyes. We have some caterpillars, in our classroom. that we will watch go through metamorphosis and become butterflies before long. This is always a very exciting time in Kindergarten!!

We have, also, been very busy practicing for our play this week! It is fast approaching and we need your help! We need some parents to help us with our backdrop for the play. If you have any time that you could come, please let us know. We can stay any afternoon until 4:00. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

SOME REMINDERS:

We are currently selling car wash tickets. EHCS receives 100% of the proceeds on this fund raiser.  We encourage you to buy at least one ticket. Your support of our school is always appreciated! This fund raiser runs through Friday, April 20th.

Remember that Spring Picture Orders are due on Wednesday, April 18th.

Please be collecting the things that your child will need for the play. Our play will be on Tuesday evening, April 24th, at 6:30 in the Middle School Gym.

We hope you have a great weekend!!

KINDERGARTEN RUNS FOR EHCS!

We really had a great time today running at our Castle Quest Fun Run and raised a lot of  money to help our school!  Thank you to everyone for supporting this fundraiser! We appreciate all you do! However, this Castle Quest adventure was not all about raising money for our school. It was also great learning the different character traits that were taught each day in a video: focus, self- awareness, respect, trustworthiness, creativity, and life-learner. The students looked forward each day to the video and I know that they learned things that they can use in their own lives to make them a better person and friend to others. Again, we thank all of you for your help and support!

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:

Earlier this week, we sent home a costume requirement sheet for our Kindergarten Play. The items that are marked as " needed", are the things that you will need to provide for your child's costume. We sent this now, in order to give you plenty of time to gather these things before the play. We do not need for you to send these things to school.

HIPPITY, HOPPITY, EASTERS ON IT'S WAY!!

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE! Yesterday, we had a wonderful time at our egg hunt. Thank you to all the parents who came and helped out! The children had fun and I think some of us adults did, too!

Yesterday, we also made "Resurrection Rolls." We baked crescent rolls with a marshmellow inside to represent the tomb of Jesus. After baking, the tomb was empty! Luke 24:6 says, "He is not here; He is risen!" Praise God for what he has done for us!

Please enjoy all the pictures of our day...

Happy Easter!
